The five day working visit to Athens of the official Delegation of the City of Shenzhen (the Silicon Valley of China, with 20 million citizens) has been concluded, after invitation, planning and realization by the Chamber of Greek-Chinese Economic Cooperation.
Leading the 10 members of the Delegation where two important figures of Shenzhen, the General Director of the Economy, Commerce and Development, Mr. Wang Youming and the Executive Vice Mayor of Longhua – Shenzhen, Mrs. Zhang Nasha.
The Delegation realized a series of long working meetings with representatives of companies and business organisations, of which the meetings with the Chamber of Greek-Chinese Cooperation, the Athens Traders Association and CRS Liknoss Travel Tourism Technology Company stood out.
An exchange of ideas of great interest took place in a special meeting, between the 10 members of the Delegation and 10 Greek entrepreneurs, with the participation of the General Secretary of International Economic Cooperation of the Ministiry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Grigoris Dimitriadis, the Vice Mayor of Athens for Business Development and Investments Mr. Nikos Makropoulos and the Chairman of the Chamber Mr. Fotis Provatas.
At the Conference on the Economic and Commerical Cooperation between Shenzhen and Athens, the number of attendees, members of the Chamber, surpassed even the most hopeful predictions. Speakers at the event where Wang Youming, Zang Nasha, Grigoris Dimitriadis, Nikos Makropoulos, Fotis Provatas and Georgios Vernikos, President of the Economic and Social Council of Greece and General Secretary of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE). The conference was sealed with the signing of a long term Cooperation Agreement between the International Investment Agency of the Shenzhen Local Government and the Chamber of Greek-Chinese Economic Cooperation which entails the constant operation of a Common Committee for the promotion of investments between the two countries.
Finally, the formation of a Delegation of interested business operators was decided, in the context of the Cooperation Agreement, which would visit Shenzhen as soon as possible for B2B discussions, in a strictly prepared professional context.
The conference concluded with business contacts between Chinese and Greek participants.
